This ride is very popular with road riders seeking a good workout. Using highway 39, East Fork and Glendora Mountain Road it provides varying terrain and views. Note however I only do this loop on weekdays; on weekends highway 39 is way too busy with cars and motorbikes to make it an enjoyable cycle ride, in my opinion.

Given this is a loop the starting point is arbitrary. I happened to record the milage starting in Glendora, at the corner of Sierra Madre and Glendora Ave. Google directions to start
The Ride
As describe this is a clockwise loop starting in Glendora. I prefer this direction given the starting point as it covers the busiest stretch of road first, and leaves the final stretch all downhill.
Start by heading West on Sierra Madre Avenue, crossing Grand Avenue. Continue through the new Rosedale housing development and turn right at the junction with highway 39, at 2.5 miles.
Go North on highway 39 for exactly 10 miles and turn right onto East Fork and cross the bridge. You can find more details on this segment of the ride here.
At the end of East Fork (17.75 miles) follow the road as it switch backs to the right. This next stretch of road is my favourite part of the climb, and is described here.
A saddle is reached at 22.64 miles, where you turn right, pass by a gate and after a short climb begin the descent down Glendora Mountain Road, described here.
Once at the bottom of Glendora Mountain Road turn right onto Sierra Madre to return to the start
